aristocraft 2-8-2 motor cleaning and lubrication of a sitting since 2002 engine/motor

Would be interested in hearing from anyone concerning lubrication and cleaning of the motor of a aristocraft 2-8-2, electric version that has been sitting since 2002. this engine sounds ok but has poor puling power and will blow a on board 5 amp fuse that is on to battery board, Thanks Bill

Sorry, Bill, but this loco falls in the interlude between boxing the trains up for storage and breaking them out to work the Triple O!

Yes, Bill !

That would be interesting to hear your experiences regarding cleaning and regreasing a loco. Part of keeping ‘em rollin’…

I use to repair all types of LGB engines for a hobby store I worked with just never any aristo’s

Motor rarely an issue, normally you have a quartering problem. Check for any loose wheels, and this is slipping on the axle, so you are looking for a wheel that can turn under pressure, none of them should move at all under rotational pressure on the wheel, not at all.
