Arthur preparations and after results

After the results of starting the " SANDY " thread will reluctantly start one for Arthur. This hurricane expected to strengthen to a cat = 2 may only hit Nantucket but only a 3 - 5 degree tack change could mean something different ?There has been no notices from any passenger RR or commuter. As well only CSX has issued a service bulletin so far for Wilmington, NC

Anyone who has information in the future it is most welcome. LET us hope NJT is preparing for an unlikely storm surge ?

Customer Service Advisory - CSX Prepared for Hurricane Arthur
CSX Transportation is taking precautions to protect employees, rail traffic and infrastructure as Hurricane Arthur moves toward the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Rail cars and locomotives have been moved out of the Wilmington, N.C., area, and some local operations will be suspended temporarily. The storm is not expected to have a significant impact on CSX operations, but its path and intensity are being closely monitored.

Arthur ain’t no Sandy. And reports are showing the worst will be off shore especially in the larger metropolitan areas. Still, their guards are up and preparations in place. Friday being a holiday means less travelling, few trains. Sat and Sun however also have nicer weather predicted so there will be beach and shore traffic for sure. Boston may be worse off than those down coast and Downeast should be ok as the Arthur skips out at sea to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Although the cold front initiated many storms we can thank goodness no major problems from Arthur.
