Assistance in Switch Selection

New to the hobby. Am building a layout using Atlas track with max 54" radius track and also some 36" curves. Will run Railking engines. I plan on about eight switches (some back-to-back) on the layout. My question is, should I stay with Atlas switches or is another manufacturer preferable?

Thanks.

If you are using Atlas track, I’d advise sticking with Atlas switches. You’d have a difficult time adapting other brands. Atlas makes an excellent product!

thanks. Good to know.

rbr60,

Dr John is probably right. If they are compatable I would look into Ross switches. They are made well, work very smoothly and are easy to wire. It’s worth exploring.

I will do that.

Thanks.

I have looked at Atlas and Ross Custom switches which are similar to GarGraves and would say to stick with the Atlas, not much of anything matches up with the new Atlas track that well even when using adapter pins. Not sure if Atlas makes an insulating pin for their track but GarGraves makes NO insulating pins, I had to whittle down a K-Line S gauge insulating pin for my GarGraves track.
