ATCS Monitor For Windows

I have a few questions about ATCS. Here’s the website if anybody is interested - http://www.atcsmon.com/

  1. Is this program great?

  2. I’ve looked through how to do this, but is there easier instructions on how to do this?

  3. Is this easy to setup on my computer?

4 On my scanner I have PC/IF Output on the right side of it. Can I use that for ATCS to display on my computer?

  1. Also along with question number 4, would this product here http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2177609 work to display the map of the route I’m choosing to show where the trains are in a exact location?

  2. Also, is this worth to even use?

If this is to complicated, then I’ll just stick with just listening to my scanner. That’s probably easiest, but I may be wrong.

I wish it didn’t need a scanner… Otherwise I’d use it!

I think that this sounds really cool, but 1, I don’t have a scanner. (I don’t evan know what to look for.) 2 I really don’t understand this. I mean, do you need a special monitor? is it ileaigal? Sorry for being so ignorant.

The program isn’t illegal, and is read-only, meaning that someone can’t use it to open a switch or anything of that nature. I’ve read a bit about the program, and one requirement is that the area has to be under CTC to be covered by ATCS. Also, from what I gathered from the website, only certain areas are covered as of right now. I once saw some screenshots of a subdivision nearby, and it looks fairly easy to get used to, though with the system using CTC, if there’s any different control in the middle of the system, you won’t have coverage.
