Athearn 57' Trinity Spine Car/Loading piggy back trailers

Does anyone know if the Athearn 57’ Trinity Spine Car comes with the yokes so that you can load piggy back trailers onto it. From the pics ive seen on the athearn it doesnt appear that you can load trailers on it unless it comes with pieces that have to be assembled onto the spine car? Thanks for everyones help!!!

Well, according to the Horizon Hobby website (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=ATH28908), “The prototype for our model is based on a Trinity-built car owned by the TTX Company. These 70-ton cars (TTX class RAF30A) numbered TTRX 360817-361116 first appeared on the rails in the late 1990’s. The Athearn model is faithful to the prototype allowing modelers to load a variety of trailers and containers.”

I’m sure someone on the forum has one of these, but if you don’t get any response you can always call Athearn.

Yes, you can load trailers on the spine cars. They come in a package with the spine cars. All you have to do is pull them out of package and put them on the cars. Very easy. PW

The Athearn spine car comes equipped with the ACF style drop-hitch assembly, as these were primarily designed for transporting up to 53’ ft trailer vans, OR with the hitch assembly ‘dropped’ can accept a container. Athearn wisely supplied the additional parts to configure the car for either load, included in a small bag attached to the underside of the Cradle that holds the car.

The enclosed instruction sheet shows the install locations for the desired parts for the container version.
