Athearn Genesis SD75M

Do the Athearn Genesis SD75M’s have working ditch lights? From the looks of Athearns’ website it looks like it but I can’t really tell.

Thanks in advance,

Depending on the run, they come installed or packaged for you to install. The newer ones have them installed, the old ones with the warped trucks that come with no details applied, you have to install.

Big Boy,

Loved your warped trucks comment. I’ve had one of those and it drove me crazy trying to figure out why it would derail in one direction only. I finally checked the trucks and sure enough warped. Got to love it.

Does anyone know if athearn is or has offered replacement trucks for the warped ones as it is so obviously a manufacturing defect?

So then this one will probably have warped trucks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170065243768&rd=1&rd=1

Shucks

Is there any way to fix the warped trucks? would Athearn send me some new trucks?

I had two of the Genesis SD70Ms with warped trucks and had to pay for the replacements. Athearn would not accept responsibility for the problem.

I know the feeling Tilden. I have a great looking UP SD70M but never run it because it won’t stay on the tracks! I’ve been meaning to order new trucks (and ditch lights too, as I broke mine trying to install them) from Athearn. It doesn’t sound like Athearn replaces them for free, but I believe around $30 will get you a pair of new (and unwarped) trucks.
