Just bought one of these & after watching it wobble down the track right from the box, I emailed Athearn & got a response about it, I’ve decided I’ll replace the wheels instead of inconveniencing myself with taking the car back to the LHS or sending the wheels back the Athearn.
Anyone know whether the wheels on this car is 33" or 36"?

You have the model, why don’t you measure it and tell us?
As it is a 100 ton car, it should have 36" wheels - or is it a 125 ton car, in which case it should have 38" wheels.
Why do you think that it is the wheels causing the wobble, and not something else, say like the trucks or the track?
Hey Gordon. They are 36 inch wheels, compare them to a regular RTR box car and you will notice they are slightly taller then the 33 inch wheels on box cars.

Because, as I watched the car roll back towards me, I could see the reflections on the wheel change as the car rolled.
I have been extremely careful with my trackwork & no other car that I own does this!
