Hello everyone,I was wondering will a athearn GP40-2 power trucks, fit onto a athearn F7A frame?

They’re actually the same trucks. All Athearn does is change out the sideframes.

Also the Ahearn FM trainmaster diesel engine uses the same SD45,Trucks too I have a few Ahearn SD45 trucks I need to put gears in.

The Trainmaster trucks are actually unique. The wheel spacing and sideframes are quite a bit different from the SD45 trucks.

Yes you are right cause the athearn trainmaster has metal sideframes instead of plastic sideframes.I am still looking around for some athearn power trucks I am needing two axle trucks & three axle trucks.I have some athearn frames that need power,The frames I have are.SD9,SD40-2,SD40T-2,GP40-2,F7A.This will take time to get due to me low on $$$ right now.I am hoping I will get these ruuning soon with motors an etc.

For replacement trucks, try local swap meets or Proto-Power west

Thanks for the link that is way out of my price range way to much for me,I do not belive this athearn trucks,Will work on the athearn blue box SD40-2/SD40T-2.Here is a link on what truck i am talking about.

Those aren’t made for the old blue box locomotives, those are for the Genesis models.

You want the trucks that Dan links to for the old blue box locos.
