The hand railing is the only thing I see thats different.
Yep the front and back hand rail. Their AC4400 has the correct version though. I wonder why they didn’t just add the AC4400 hand rail to the C44-9W, both uses the same types.
What couplers do you have on the front ? I tried Kadee #5s but they aren’t long enough with the snow plow installed. I am looking at #26s.

I go for the cheap couplers, because well, they are cheap. The one I have on the model is an Bachmann E-Z coupler, medium, middle shank.

the chain on the prototype is grey not white
also the top of the nose should be grey not yellow
I noticed that Kato also did the same. I couldn’t find any prototype pics of the top of the nose being yellow.
Actually the whole hand rail was white, I chipped off the white, but left the white on the chains because it was harder to remove.
fair enough them but with a little harbour mist on that nose and it would look good, as well as working ditch lights
You know, I think that UP had the windows on the doors but patched them later. Just look at the last two pictures the bwilcox inserted.

well thats put it beyond doubt, im gonna save and get a kato instead! i still might try a RTR GP38 though
