Hey Ya’ll
Does anyone know if MTH made an ACL Railking 4-8-2.
This wasn’t on my list until tonight when my girlfreind came over. After we finished the movie, I showed her my trains. She told me about her Grandad who is a Retired Atlantic Coast Line engineer.
She told me that she thought my Briti***rains were “Pretty” (a response you can expect from a girl who know’s nothing about trains). She said the same thing about my 2343 Santa Fe F3’s.
I’ve always wanted a big steamer, so now is the chance to get one.

s.r. - Sorry I can’t help you since I know nothing about MTH. I have collected the Lionel ACL diesels. They have an F7 ABA set and an E6 AA set. One set has silver passenger cars and the other has purple cars. Both are very sharp looking.

Nice,
I’d like a purple Altantic Coast Line F3, but I am a steam man, so the steamer comes first.
I hope Williams goes beyond reproducing Postwar F3’s and makes newer ones with non-postwar roadnames such as the ACL and some others. Maybe reproductions of the MPC F3 roadnames would be nice too.

Good luck, I hope you find what you’re looking for. The ACL sets are beautiful. If you ever decide to pick one up I’m sure you’ll love it.
SR, I believe MTH made one, maybe even Lionel. Go on either of the websites and type this in, Atlantic Coast Line steamer.
The Williams Berkshire (2-8-4) and Hudson (4-6-4) steamers are both available in ACL colors. However, depending upon how prototypical you are, I have never been able to find any sources that show ACL owning / running either of these wheel arrangement. I have the Berkshire to which I added TAStudios EOB and smoke unit.
The ACL was primarily a Pacific (4-6-2) road using them for mixed passenger and freight duty. They did in fact have a limited number of Mountain types that you referenced but I have never seen any of that configuration modeled by Lionel, MTH or Williams.
K-Line made a really nice Pacific passenger set but I have only seen one, on eBay, in the last two years. Also, MTH makes a really nice 4-8-4 in the more traditional black / silver ACL steam colors. It is out of production but there are a few dealers around that have some remaining stock.
Hope this helps you in your search.

Hey Ya’ll
I like Purple. Blue and Red are my favorite Colors, but Purple is nice. I still want a big ACL steamer like MTH’s 4-8-2, but a purple engine is more likely to trun a girls head than a Black and Grey One.

Have you tried Ready To Roll hobby shop in Miami for that ACL steamer?
