Hello,
I just received a new Atlas Coil Steel Car. There were additional parts in a box. They looks like some kind of plates and mu hoses.
I can’t figure out where they should be placed. There is no manual. I don’t see these parts on pictures.
Could you help, please? Pictures with installed parts would be helpful.
Well, the one thing looks like an air hose. If it is, it should mount to the side of the coupler box as shown in the following picture: http://www.atlasrr.com/HOFreight/ho42coilcar1.htm
Are those plate looking things plastic or metal? If metal, they could be car weights. If the coil hood is removeable, look under it and see if there are some mounting pins that would match the holes in the plates.
Although I have not gotten those yet, I want to!
A couple things that come to mind are; Could they be used to simulate a wood panel in the load basin, for setting the coils onto to prevent damage? (usually placed over or near the truck ends)
Also, are there slots to put them upright in the basin to use as dividers to prevent load shift?
I agree, the hoses look like train-line air hose connections.
Hi Arras88,
these two plates are load restraint devices. Since no car could be entirely filled -the load would be much too heavy- they are use to prevent narrow coils to tip over in the well. They are bolted on both edges of the well.

Thank you very much. I didn’t know that I can open this model
You are right. I found a place where plates should go after I opened the car.
These other things are really air hoses. I was confused because some air hoses are already near gear boxes and couplers. However, there are little holes at the bottom of gear boxes to connect and extend air hoses
Thanks all !!
