This is a good, reliable engine. I have a several from the older runs and they are my some of my favorite engines. I once had 4 SD60’s pull 100 hoppers (a mix of atlas 90 ton, coalveyors, and Kato coalporters) up a 3% grade at an n-trak layout. These guys are champs, can do almost anything, and look good doing it too.
No unusual for Atlas N Scale locomotives to have some minor problems out of the box. They are easy to work on and once the little things are taken care of they perform well.

I love the history part about the locomotive. That gives you information about the time period of the locomotive.

this model is typical of most atlas’s chinese locomotive products great exterior, losey guts. I thought the INRD model capture the model perfectly. but I found the my trucks were install backwards and decoder installation is overly complicated. For the price of this product is way over costly. its not worth the more $50. Come on Atlas you use to have great models in the 90’s since you went to china your prodcuts are over priced second teir models. Also, the customer service assitance in diagnosing the issue was terrible, the employees were real quick to pass the problem .
I’m looking forward to Atlas bringing this model out in the Canadian National wide body scheme.
