I’ve been going through a bunch of stuff and thinking about getting rid of some of it. At one time, i considered going into O scale and cabbaged on to some cars, locos, and track. Well, that is not going to happen. Think I’ll stick to HO scale.

Question is, I found about 30 pieces of 36" atlas 2 rail n/s flex track on black plastic ties and want to describe it accurately if I go to sell it. The rail measures a little under .160" high with my playschool caliper and I was wondering if this is obsolete or what. The later stuff is code 148 on brown ties.

After looking around on the internet, it looks like 2 rail O scale flex track is getting to be pretty rare. Perhaps some of you O scale enthusiasts could shed some light on this for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure what you want to know that you don’t already. Atlas dipped it’s toe in 2 rail O scale back in the 70’s. I have some of their flex track and turnouts from that time period. They also made some cars and locomotives as did AHM (I have some their stuff as well). I don’t know if the rails from then have the same cross section as today’s or not (or the ties as well), but both are supposedly code 148 and should work together with maybe a little shiming / filing at the joint. The turnouts I believe were 24" radius - not at home where I can check.
