Atlas Rail joiner cost

I was going through an old box of railroad stuff I got from my brother which had been packed away back in '84 or '85. I found an unopened package of atlas rail joiners that cost $1.65. I dont know when I had actually bought these but it was difinitely before 1984. (no date on the box or sales tag) I had paid $1.95 for a box of Atlas rail joiners back in Feb of this year.

How’s that for the cost of inflation. 30 cents in 20 plus years. Not too bad I say.

Smaller inexpensive parts that are cheap to mass produce tend to have wild price flucuations or not at all.
If you really need a screw or that specific nut and bolt, you will gladly pay the couple of $$ for it. These items are mass produced and cost only pennies. It is more of a nusiance factor your paying for.
