Atlas SD-24 QSI Speaker

I have a Silver series SD-24, and want to know what type of speakers are used. Right now there is just a metal “blank” where the speaker would be if it were a “Gold” model.

I also noticed when I plug in a decoder, that it doesn’t blow the LEDs. I am assuming that nothing additional needs to be done with the lighting on these models (unlike the Athearn and Atlas “dcc ready” models).Thanks

It uses a 3MMX30MM 8 ohm speaker available only through Atlas. It is the exact ones used with the QSI in their Gold series locomotives. The speakers were supposed to be available by the first of last November 06. You need to e-mail them and ask.
