SO I was finishing up getting my new Trainmaster read to roll by adding the seperate parts and swappign otu the (ugg) Accumate couplers. There are 3 bags of parts. Two are obvious. One is the magnet wand for resettign the decoder, the other has the end handrails and drop steps.
Bag #3 though, I seem to have no idea what it’s for. There are a pair of what look liek coupler boxes, with two screews for each set. However, the stock coupelr boxes do not have provisions for 2 screws, there’s one right in the middle, and anyway it fits a Kadee #148 as-is. I’ve looked over both sides fo the exploded view diagrams included with the loco and can find no part that resembles these. I’m post a picture, but it won;t show up through the plastic bag very well, and anywya - they look exactly like a coupler box. Center post, one halfe an open box, the other half a lid for said box, with two holes for mounting screws. They even have a ridge molded in both side at the end where the coupler shank would protude that is made to look like the buffer plate.
So - just spare parts that were meant for the earlier release of the Trainmasters, or another model completely, that they just stuck in by mistake? More parts for the parts box are always welcome, I was just curious.
