Attaching Plaster Castings to Extruded Foam

To attach a plaster casting, be it from a rock mold or anything plaster or hydrocal, to foam (extruded foam) What is the best adhesive to use. I see some using “hot glue” from glue sticks. Others use some form of adhesive like “liquid nails”. Or even making a patch of wet or fresh plaster, although that seems like a lot of extra work. What about the same type tube caulk that is used for putting down track?

That’s what I’d use, Chris. It’s inexpensive and it holds well.

Hot glue could easily melt pink foam. That would be a poor choice.

How big are the castings? Are you mounting them horizontally, vertically or on an angle? For most castings, I use white glue or Aileen’s Tacky Glue. As long as you’ve got enough flat-on-flat surface area, most adhesives will do the job.
