Anybody know what the prototype is for Bachmann’s new double deck commuter coaches?
Can you give us a Bachmann part number or photo so we know what you are talking about specifically?

Not a bad looking car. Too modern for me, though. Would be neat if Bachmann would produce the Pullman Standard lightweight commuter cars that the New Haven and a few other roads used. On the New Haven they were known as the “8600 series”. A number survived into the Amtrak era.
I asked at my LHS a while back and I was told they’re Chinese. Pretty cool looking, although there are zillions of Euro type double-deck cars also available from the various Manufacturers.
My understanding as well, but MBTA and NJT (I think) are also running very similar cars. As in, tehe windows aren’t 100%, and some have extra roof stuff, but they’re darned close.
EDIT: Okay, so not as close as I was thinking. But they do have the single car end that splits to go up and downstairs.
