A while back I picked up a pair of used Bachmann H16-4’s on eBay from a seller who did not know much about the subject. Both run OK and I will get around to tuning them up a little eventually. I really bought them with the idea that they would give me a good platform to practice doing detail work, painting, weathering, etc.
Neither unit has any handrials at all and I have not been able to locate anyplace to get suitible parts - maybe I’m just searching in the wrong places[banghead]. Any help on where to get these parts, or how to make them, would be greatly appreciated.
You can make them out of brass wire, but you’ll need the proper solder. You can also use strenye tubing
How old are these? Did you try Bachmann parts and service to see if they still sell them?
I just sent an e mail to Bachmann parts requesting this very same item…waiting to hear.
Admittedly, these are like hen’s teeth to find.

If the Bachmann connection does not work out I suggest you try some of the HO scale modeling groups on Yahoo like HO Swap, HO Interchange, etc. You can post a Want to buy message and see what turns up. I had success with finding missing handrails for a Bachmann GP-30 pretty recently.
I bought two of the Spectrum H16-44s myself and painted them for the New York Central. Here they are in my staging yard. After a good cleaning and tuning they run fine and are some of my favorite engines.

I found an email to Bachmann is slow. For a quick reply i always call them.
You can use wire to make your own or get Athearn stanchons. It depends on whaty ou want them to look like.
