Bachmann HO scale PCC streamline trolley
I agree, the PCC trolley from is a good thing, however; the car body is too high. HO passengers would need a step ladder to get in. I’m not sure you can lower the body due to the internal motor components. Still, for the price, it a good little model.
does it come in other road names?
The car body is too high because of the motor. I found I can grind about 1/4" off the top of the motor (be sure to wear eye protection when using a grinder) and the motor still works. Then it’s easy to lower the body. Removing the light-transmitting clear plastic and widening the spaces for the trucks allows my PCC to handle 6" radius curves. I use LEDs for headlight and tail lights.
Bachmann could stand to improve this model, like they did the Brill. But, seeing as how there are already a few other excellent PCC models by other manufacturers out there, this will probably not happen.
