Someone by the name of “bachmanntrains” has posted a very interesting video "A brief history of the Baldwin 2-6-6-2 Articulated Saddle Tank Locomotive" over on You Tube.

It is 5 min 24 sec long and has quite a good selection of “antique” b&w footage of some old and rare engines. I found it to be rather enjoyable, and thought I would share someone else’s postings. If you are “bachmanntrains” I’m not trying to steal your thunder but sharing a rather good video.

Vic: looks like something you might be challenged to build? I know, it violates you rule of having only two axles.

This is one of those things that should be all over the forums. I’ll bet the classic trains, locomotive folks and small-scale railroaders would find this fascinating.

Odd that there was no mention of Uintah Ry numbers 50 and 51 - the prototypes for the HO scale 2-6-6-2T sold by Mantua. While originally sold to a mining route, they ended up in the woods on the Sumpter Valley - the only 3 foot gauge 2-6-6-2s ever operated in the United States.
