A government agency is asking its union member to actually pay for a small portion of their health care? Something which is very common in the private sector. Can’t let that happen. Next thing you know, the government will replace the union workers with non-union workers because they work for real world wages and produce a better product. But don’t worry public sector union members. You are protected by socialist government which always takes more from the provider class and gives you what you want plus a little extra.

what did the Goose do when a Republican held the White House? love that reference to ‘provider class’. it’s the “I know what’s mine mentality”. And all of this has nothing to do with trains.
I guess the Guse never received assistance from police or medical staff who are probably unionized but I don’t spouse the price for their public services are worth your life or safety?
The BART workers by all means should be reoresented by a union. That being said, they should also be bound to binding arbitration. They, after all are not in a competitive work enviroment and the havoc their strike has caused puts the workers into a “mob mentality” class.
And strike they did…fortunately the bay ferries more than ramped up their service, tho’ by 7AM the freeways were an atrocious mess leading to the Bay Bridge. I took the first AM ferry to SF and found it as nice as ever, despite the extra early departure. Strangely, the USCG provided light boat escorts over and back all day…were they anticipating Union-sanctioned mayhem? On the ferries all I have to do is try to imagine myself on a grand old SP steamer…tho’ it takes a lot of effort.
