Bedlam Creations - Josh Muma...disappeared?

Hello! In May 2024, I paid Josh Muma of Bedlam Creations (see link below) to make custom decals for me for my free-lance railroad. As of this January, he had not sent anything. I contacted him then and he said he must have set it aside, and would get right on it. Sent another e-mail last week, so far no reply. It appears (see link) his company’s webpage is still up. Just wondering if anyone else has purchased anything from him, maybe someone in his area (Charlevoix, MI) knows him?

Thanks!

sounds scammy to me!

Here is his review ratings.

File a complaint with the Charlevoix BBB.

That might get his attention.

40% of the reviews give the lowest possible rating.

Thank you for the replies! Looks like he has a pretty sketchy history. I have put in a negative review on Trustpilot, and as suggested have filed a report with the Better Business Bureau.

Unfortunately the guy I had used for years for my “St.Paul Route” decals, Don Manlick, passed away about 10 years ago, and my supply of his decals are starting to run out. This was the second company I had contacted and sent some of my remaining decals to so they could make copies, and both times I’ve been ghosted (although Bedlam is the only one I paid money to).

If you paid through credit card, there is a good chance that you can recover your payment by filing a fraud claim with the credit card company.

I’ve heard good things about Highball Graphics, and have personally had a good experience with PDC.CA, if you want to give those a try. I design my own decals, and have used PDC once and Fusion Scale Graphics a few times now to get my designs printed, but don’t have any experience getting “design” services from them. Good luck, and sorry you’ve had a hard time so far

Thanks again for replies! UPDATE - rec’d an e-mail from Josh M that he saw the Trustpilot negative review, and refunded my money via PayPal.

Hard to believe this all started at the 2018 National Narrow Gauge Convention in Minneapolis, when I gave some of my existing decals to the folks at San Juan Car Co., and then never heard from them again (although I think the company changed hands about that time, so it all might have just got lost in the shuffle). Unfortunately San Juan has the original art work for my heralds, but I do still have some of the old decals that I’m hoping can be used as a model for what I need.

Good for you. Glad to read the good news.

Reach out to Bill Brillinger at pdc.ca as he’s done my private RR decals and more. Very prompt on his work and the decal film he uses is top quality.
