I read in 3/24 news wire that the BNSF was attempting to keep bears away from a spill of molasses and bird seep in Montana. It also said that they had stopped the clean for the winter because vacuum lines froze up. My question: Why keep the bears away? Why not let them do the clean up? If it is too much, could they not bring some bears in? Could the bears handle the steep slope better than the human clean-up crew?
Ok - I am going to think you are serious on this one. And I will be very gentle.
You put out food for a stray cat and what do you get…a new pet.
You probably don’t want a lot of bears around that area, hanging around to see if there will be another molasses/bird seed spill. Would you want to work in an area with a bear that is bigger than your SUV and twice as dangerous? Plus, being a wildlife myself, I don’t think that is probably the best diet for bears - too high in sugar!
Just a few reasons off the top of my pointed head.

Afraid the bear poo-poo would act like ice when the bears pooped on the tracks? [:o)][:p]
