Well I was going to try a Hobby Store I haven’t been to in Pittsburgh, and I look out the door and BAM, snow. I guess I will have to try later today or tomorrow. So much for having a black Friday.
Bah! Just open the sand valves and hit the road.[:D]
I’m from Canada…where’s the snow!!! Surely you don’t mean that light skiff that isn’t even worth getting out the shovel? Please say yes…[(-D]
Holy cow… I admit, I look at that, i think its just too cool. Then again, I cant even remember the last time we had rain here. [:(]
Yeah, we had some flurries here in New England a couple of days ago. Remember those “electric snow shovels” that they were selling a few years back? Essentially useless, because this is the kind of “snow cover” they were designed to handle. Less than an inch, light and fluffy only. Man, you could sneeze this stuff off your driveway.
And the answer to the “tough question” is A Towel**.** Do I get a prize? Did I win the brass Big Boy, or the complete Walthers Hiawatha set, including the station and train shed? Or are you just going to “throw in the towel” and change your sig? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
I sorta remember snow, I see it on Tv alot. Of course living in Mesa Arizona does tend to keep the roads clearer. except for snowbirds. The trip to Roys later will not involve mushie streets
There is nothing in this world that would make me shop today. I don’t care what the discount is. Most of the ‘door buster’ deals are crappy merchandise to begin with. Your twenty dollar dvd player will be dead in a year. As far as the snow, I have a nine horsepower blower with chains on the tires. There isn’t much I can’t get through. I have to admit though, that first bit of slippery roads bring out the idiots. Everyone forgets how to drive in the snow over the summer. Once you get a measurable snow, the idiots in there suv’s go flying by. I think they forget that when five thousand pounds starts to move, it’s hard to stop! Especially if your moving sideways! Anyway, Happy Black Friday. Remember, the real discounts come later in the season once management gets worried about their numbers.
I’ve been in Columbia, TN 6 years. We’ve only had one snow that amounted to anything! The others could only be considered as a “dusting.”
wooo
i wish i was so lucky to not have to go out today
lucky for me ([B)]) I have to work today, and i work at a major retailor, so its going to be extreemly busy, and im going to be extreemly miserable.
oh well i guess[sigh]
I wouldn’t go shopping today. If I really wanted bargains, I’d wait until after Christmas. As far as the snow, i’ts sunny and close to 70 degrees here.
Well it mostly snowed all day, but didn’t really stick. I made it to the hobby store. I rather go there than a mall or really anywhere else. All I ending up buying is a backdrop for my weathered cars [D)]. Then went to another hobby store and bought some cars. Kinda made a whole day out of some hobby stores. I think the best time was when I told the wife, the least I will spend today is $100.00. Heres her impression [:O]
I just poked my head out this evening because I was really desperate for a few groceries, and I think the entire world has been drinking. I was treated to numerous examples of really foul language, and a gent behind me at the register screaming in my ear at his relative in Hindi.
To top it all off, I was nearly rear-ended by someone who, let’s just say, probably couldn’t get a legal driver’s license outside of New York. [:(!] All I can say is never again!
I’m sure the LHS was open today, but the trains can wait.
Sooooo…what was it again that we were to be thankful for? [:D] [(-D]
I hope you can make it to the LHS tomorrow, Nelson.
Actually, train show tomorrow! [:D] I hope the nuts are off the road by then. [:-^]
Where is the snow you all keep talking about. All I see is some frost? [:D]
Magnus
Snow? Where?
I spent too many years playing in big snow. Im content to stay home, let it snow and cook two square meals a day for two people.
I always say if you can walk on it, you can drive on it chains or not.
Where is the snow you’re complaining about ? [%-)] Like our Swedish friend said : “All I see is frost.” [swg]
Here in Québec City, we got about 21cm (8.5") on Thursday with another 10cm (4") expected tomorrow. It barely caused us to blink. We seem to be well on our way to get our average snowfall of about 350-400cm (140-160").
Down in Pittsburgh a dusting like that is a blizzard. Up here in Erie 12" is a dusting. Drove through the stuff friday to go see the Sabres beat the Canadiens, then went to the LHS in Buffalo for some goodies. Came home Saturday and now I have to get up the last of the leaves for the year. Ready for a long winter in the basement.
Where I grew up we called the stuff in that picture “partly coudy”.
