Was wondering if some one could help point me in the direction of who carries blank decal sheets? Am looking for clear sheets to work with my laser printer. Thanks in advance.
Check Walthers website, they list almost everything in the hobby. http://www.walthers.com/
I get mine at a general-purpose hobby shop. My local train shop doesn’t carry it, and has had trouble ordering it for me, as well. Look for a place that does RC cars and planes, as well as general plastic models, including military models. Maybe a wargaming place, if you have one of those nearby.
We’ve pretty much established that the big-box office supply places and craft stores do not carry decal paper.
I think the Walthers paper is laser only. Be sure to get the right kind for your printer. Inkjet won’t work for you, just as laser won’t work for me.
You might try the Evan Designs decal paper. I have had great results with this product. It is designed for use in inkjet printers but I don’t see why a laser printer couldn’t be used as well. The biggest advantage is that this decal paper does not require a sealer. Just let the printed decal dry for at least 30 minutes before dipping into water for application. No runs or smears and the colors remain as printed. This paper comes in white background only. However, Evan Designs claims that coating with DulCote will cause the background to turn clear. I haven’t tried this yet but I can say that the background turns clear when the decal paper is wetted. It returns to white as the decal dries. Apparently, the lacquer solvents in the DulCote will turn the background clear permanently.
Try Tango Papa Decals: http://www.tangopapadecals.com/
I used his paper when I had my decal business. Good stuff, at a reasonable price.
