I was thinking about to buy a Blue line locomotive. I have a BLI AC-5 that is a very good runner in DC, but a friend, who as I would say is a experienced DCC railroader, have get a SD-40 Blue line and after a long try to have the DCC function, he mailed a lot with the company and they admit it had a factory fault and send him a new locomotive and one new electric circuit bord to put in the “old” one.
He was happy after a lot of hours trying to get it running and now he would get one extra as i compensation, he thougt. He have get the new one and put a new circuit board in the old one but no one function… He have a Lenz system and the company say they vill send him new parts… He is so unhappy. It was sure no “drop in” to get them to have DCC function. Is he the only one with this Blue line DCC problem? Are they function better when only DC running? The company is trying to help him the best but if it have factory fault it vill never help.
Tony have Lenz silver decoder as a decoder with problem with Blue line and that is the type my friend have. Today at our model railroadclub I talk to him and he sad that they told him to send the printed circuit board in for them to fix. He have done that so we hope they fix it. Factory sure try to do there best but he feel that they should have test this better before they put it in the market, and I agreed.
