BNSF 9647: no more vomit bonnet

I just heard that BNSF 9647, the SD70MAC that was delivered in 1995 and painted in a one-of-a-kind green and cream warbonnet with “Burlington Northern Santa Fe” spelled out on the long hood, has been repainted into BNSF’s standard orange paint.

So the vomit bonnet paint scheme is now history.

“vomit bonnet” It didn’t have a politer nickname? I remember the blue and yellow “Freight Bonnet” or the shouldn’t paint so fast kodachrome.

The vomit bonnet never deserved a better name.

…mainly because it made people vomit…

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! i love thje BNSF SWOOSH paint scheme but the Vomit Bonnet was a great engine HOW COULD THEY. Btw i still love BNSF.[:'(][:(!]

I think that the Green and Cream Bonnet, looked Better than ANY of the green/orange “Heritage” schemes.

Too Me, the classic BN Cascade Green and Black, was the BEST looking scheme they ever had, I did prefer them without the white cab faces though.
