I heard via grape vine that BNSF asks specific candidates for employment to take a sleep study now to see if they are suceptible to Sleep Apnea, and if found they are that BNSF mandates they use the cpap device. I am curious if this is something new or if they have been doing this for a while?
There’s a lot of attention being given sleep apnea. Given the railroads’ odd schedules, it makes sense they would all be paying attention to it.
This way the railroads can say the fatigue problem is mostly the employees’ fault, not working conditions that the railroads may have some control over.
