BNSF NS MERGER it is a possibilty in the near future i think!!!!!

BNSF recently changed the corporate name form burlington northern santa fe railway to just plain BNSF Railway, it makes sense you can fit NS right in the middle could they be preparing for a merger??? I think it is a direct possibilty!!! Everyday you see more of the dak horse out here in Kansas!!!
They are invading!!!

NO NO NO! that isn’'t going to be the next step…

the next step will be to force the taxpayers to buy all the rail right of way (so much congestion, don’t yanno?) maintain it at taxpayer expense, and lease it back to the railroads who will simply pass the expense right back to the same public, as a “cost plus O&P” contract.

Meaning that the public will be taking it in the shorts twice, so the railroads can have their toast buttered on both sides. And the Gov’t will have yet another stealth teat upon which to attach a sucker hose…

The chances of a major merger look pretty slim right now. UP and CSX want to get their act together before they get any bigger. CN wants to get bigger so they will be on equal footing with any of the big 4 US railroads if they are going to merge with them. CP makes their money by hauling coal, grain, potash and sulphur to Vancouver and they are busy improving their line. BNSF wants to improve the California-Chicago line and get more chemical traffic south of Houston. And NS is busy improving their network in New England. Perhaps NS, BNSF or CN will grab KCS, but there probably won’t be a bigger merger for a few years.

And for every dark horse you see out there we see an equal number of BNSF units in NS territory, probably more. Its nothing more than railroads pooling power almost all of them do it but it seems that BNSF and NS share each others power more than any other combo.

Early Sunday morning (about 4am) I saw a BNSF C44-9W leading an NS train on the West Virginia secondary of all places [:0] just East of Columbus OH.

Oh my God. This is never gona end.
Allan.

Where are you getting your info from? Or is this just your best guess?[:I][:p]

I just hope to God that there will be no more MERGER’s. Read my lips,NO MORE MERGERS…PLEASE! Allan.

We think they are separate railroads. They aren’t. Just one BIG company[:p]

These two are a good fit for each other when they merge. But I am tired of mergers. YES I HEAR YOU ALLEN, LOUD AND CLEAR!!!

Just read the main article of the July issue of trains, that will tell oyu what you want ot know.

Yeah, it gives you all the merger breakdowns.
(up)

I hear the New York Central and Pennsylvania Railroad are going to merge. Think its good to buy stock in that? hahaha. What time does the Broadway leave Pittsburgh?

I saw an NS locomotive on BNSF trackage, so they must be merging pretty soon.

Sometimes there is so many NS engines on the BNSF that you would think they merged just like seeing ATSF engines on the BN after the merger.

Anybody heard of run-through power?

If you go by engines then by gum we are merging! Leasing company? Merge em! CP? Merge em! KCS and TFM? Merge em! UP? Are you kidding me!!! Hell no!
Run through power gives some BNSF fan clown ( not on these boards but I have seen a link to his site here somewhere) witha bad attitude towards life a reason to expound over how government sucks and the BNSF is merging and( my favorite quote off his site) Dont let any employee tell you different!
Yup ok so I told you different but if I tell you the truth I would have to kill ya
