BNSF Railway.

On September 22,2005.
The BNSF Railway will 10 Years old. How many Years for now will the BNSF retain thier true name: BNSF Railway. Are there any BNSF Railroaders out there have the answer? BNSF has done a good deed to this Nation. I want to say this to this Great Railroad,The BNSF Railway. Happy B-Day BNSF.
Allan.

happy birthday bnsf, not really still wish it was santa fe though[:D]

I have seen many BNSF locomotives in the past, especially in Nashville.(Hence my signature photo.) I have never seen an actual BNSF train, though. To answer your question: I feel that they will merge sometime soon, whether they keep their name or not is up in the air.

I think that too…I think the reason for the name and logo change was for a future merger.

but nasty santa flush, that sounds like a good new name. how about but nobody said furlough. i have very personal experience being furloughed with the bnsf for about 3 years.

Seems as though a merger is always looming in the near future for any major railroad these days. I have heard so many different rumors from one week to the next about who the BNSF is going to merge with. Lately seems as though the NS has been the talk around the bnsf camp…but who knows. One thing all railroaders will tell you is don’t believe it until you see it.

Ill take the 5th on this topic.
Allan.

I prefer Santa Fe red/silver,and blue/yellow and BN green.

Big *** Sucking Face should not have been created and a merger would screw their company up even more.

BNSF Railfan, I also want to say Happy B-Day to the BNSF Railway. They are indeed a very good railroad. Here lately we’ve seen a lot of BNSF reroutes come through here because of the tragedy that has happened at New Orleans. It is still neat though to see a lot of BNSF trains.
However, I must disagree with this merger talk. I don’t think BNSF and NS will merge. They are two entirely different systems based on two different ideas based in two very different parts of the United States. Before any BNSF railfans think that NS will be easily acquired you need to spend a lot of time around NS and learn about NS. NS is definetely different from all the other railroads in several ways. I have always lived by NS and I clearly understand them. A friend of mine and I have talked to several NS conductors and engineers who all say they love their jobs and think that NS is a great company. And, from what I’ve heard, the STB has made mergers even harder to implement and the Government is considering making railroads subject to tough anti-trust laws. Just read October Trains issue about NS and you’ll see what I mean.
Once again though, Happy B-Day BNSF Railway.

Yes, BNSF is a great railway, but the greatest and best known railroad name in
the WORLD is the Sante Fe. The Sante Fe passenger F units and the
Sante Fe herald are known around the world. When Trains magazine puts
a Warbonnet picture on the cover it means instant sales. I believe that it was a
marketing boondogle loosing the Sante Fe aura.

Happy Birthday BNSF, hope ya don’t merge with MRL.

Long Live BN
Long Live ATSF

Most of my recent trip on the Empire Builder was on BNSF tracks. The ride was much better than on the Capitol Limited (NS), and we ran into no delays caused by the railroad.

Other passengers, now that’s another story.

Now children, let’s play nice, shall we?

BN should have stayed with their own colors and SF should have left all of the Warbonnets the way they were.

BNSF should not have a happy B-Day.

They should have a great b-day bnsf all the way. I’m still a ns/csx railfan though.

Waltersrails is right about the ns/csx thing not that BNSF should have a Happy B-Day.

No matter what people say BNSF WILL have a happy B-day above everybody I might add.Maby BNSF will go out spend some if its B-Day money on something useful and worth while…NS would best suit them but who knows CN could be one in mind too.

If any merger was to happen BNSF and NS would be the best I think. If you read the article a couple months ago about the merger puzzle you would see that BNSF and NS would go together together like puzzle piece.

one of the companie’s propiganda mags mentioned a merger in the not so near future. Read it with my own eyes.
