I just heard … Looks like the price of my BNSF stock (BNI) just jumped up and I must sell or trade fro Berkshire Hathaway. I bought the stock for $27 a share about 7 years ago. Now it will be $100. I think if the economy would recoer it would be valued higher than $100.00 per share as it was in 2007.
This was kind of discussed for some time now—it was only a matter of how he was playing his cards
SSSSHHHHhhhhh! It’s supposed to be a secret.
He bought his grandchildren this big train set for Christmas, and they’re not supposed to know.
Darn, my wife spends enough at his Nebraska Furniture Mart here in Kansas City KS, now he will probably get tribute each time I buy a Santa Fe HO diesel or car. Maybe he will open a giant hobby shop in the Nebraska store, I noticed they were doing some expanding.
Bob
What a bet! Obviously, he knows what industry will prosper.
A number of things argue in favor of this railroad. Increasing fuel costs will make trains even more cost-competitive, particularly for long-haul shipping. Greater awareness of pollution issues makes trains look “greener” than the competition. Overall, the economy will continue to recover for the next few years, increasing demand for shipping services. Finally, with so much manufacturing going to China, container traffic from West Coast ports to points east will have to rise.
Warren Buffet has a good “track” record over the years. He’s not some Wall Street type. He’s playing with his own money, and he’s done very well with it.
And my wife claims me when I spent 200.- in a loco !!!
