BNSFs monster stack train

Although not near as long as the 18000’ UP I DILBF-08, BNSF has been known to run long stack trains, my example, BNSF 4748 west at Klondike, CA near the end of the day. BNSF 5354 is pushing hard against the rear of this massive stack train, I forget how many cars were on the train but it was b/t 175-200.

BNSF Regularly runs 10,000 + foot trains they are generally listed as Q trains .

Nice Catch! To be able to see both the lead and rear units in this type of picture is great.

Correct, this one seemeed longer than normal. With all the talk about long stack trains I figured posting this shot was in order.

Ironic location name ~60 miles east of Barstow, don’t you think.

Yes, Klondike is 60 miles from Barstow and this location is just a bit further east of Klondike proper.
