Bob’s Train Box: Episode 36
Hey Bob, where did you get that roller base?
Great to see a new Bob’s Train Box episode less than a month after the last one. Keep-em coming.
Bob; Good review; Nice N+W K-2. I have one, but was afraid to use the smoke, maybe I will now, it looks good.
It does run very smooth. I tis shorter than the J, so looks OK on 072 curves.
Hey Bob Want to know the same thing where did you get that roller base and keep up the good work.
Great Job Bob as always WOW!!! for a second there I thought that tender was going to hit the floor.
Putting the 3rd Rail engine on a roller base was a great idea! It shows an O Gauge engine in action and should develop interest and sales for the 3rd Rail item.
The roller base should be used in future Bob’s so that we can see new products in action.
Also, please concentrate on engines and rolling stock and keep DVD’s and paper products at a minimum.
Always look forward to Bob’s Train box.
First time watching, I will be a regular.
Always a pleasure!
John
The roller base is sort of one of those “You can’t get there from here” stories.
I’ve been using it for maybe four or five years in some of the review vidos - both steam and a few diesels.
Both CTT and MR (HO) bought examples (ours cost about $500) and it was a case of needing to have someone physically go to the toy fair in Germany to get them.
It is made by a company called SMT Schmidt Maschinentechnik.
Go to their website and you’ll find industrial equipment with no mention of this product and the website has not been updated since 2008.
If you Google around a bit and toss in model and bahn, you’ll find some references to SMT and rollenpruefstaende, which I gather is roller base. No links are active that go to SMT. A few go to Marklin, but searching the website didn’t turn up anything.
1st time watching, long time subscriber. I am going to go back and see if I can watch archive Bob’s boxes. hope so.
like the rollerbase motif ; keep using base for other products .
Bob…you da man !
Is Classic Toy Trains so limited in budget they can’t afford a portable web cam?
Maybe you can get some tips from the guys at MR.
Great show! You should do them more often, There’s always somthing to talk about, you could show older items that often show up on the bay that are good values.
I’m not trying to have a Cody’s Office, (which requires a lot of time to write, shoot, edit and dub) just me and my trusty computer camera, and occasionally, my Flip video camera. I prefer the Lone Wolf mode of operation.
As always, an excellent update of new products!
Well done. Like the roller base. Super motive power.
Great job Bob! Good information, great video!
