Bowser USRA 2-10-2
Even though I currently have another brand, I do have a couple curves which go down to 22" radius, and I would have the same problem as mentioned, so I will not be building this particular engine.
How much does it cost?
Hello, which Railway do you want to customize your model for specifically?
I have built two, they need some adjustment to get them to operate properly. They are heavy and have alot of pulling power. I have other have brands in this same wheel arrangement which I do prefer to run.
I have one of every Bowser offered (Belpare Boiler models) & approach their operation as a cult-seperate hobby. Superdetail kits are a major improverment, but not necessary unless you’re a purist. They are extremely strong pullers-even to 4 degree grades, but do require a bit to get proper operation and periodic maintenance (almost like the prototypes). All will operate on 22" radius & on 18" at slow speeds -EXCEPT the articulated models, which I recently sold. The 4-6-6-4 will run on 22" / the 4-8-8-4 on 26" with a bit of overhang. Some modification is required-elimination of springs on trucks & some filing to boiler insides (noted in Bowser’s manual). DCC conversion is possible as well as Helix Humper re-powers.
