Very nice Andre ! Did you have any sort of plans to go by ? Have you built any other items from brass or copper ? I found an old book that tells how to build a brass Vanderbuilt Tender. I also anticipate purchasing a Resistance soldering outfit, later on. Thanks, John

Andre, This is excellent!! Did you use the Northwest Shortline riveting tool or are they spaced by hand. Either way its very impressive.

Pete

Andre.

Beautiful work, Andre! Very impressive, indeed! [:)]

andregg1 the tender looks great, cant wait to see the finished project.

Andreeg! Looks like you are a master craftsman! Your Tender is very detailed. I’m sure it will be impressive after it is finished.

that’s a real piece of art. I’m happy you shared them with us. Did you use a punch or something for the rivets?

Hi guys:
Those are the tools used for my brass model.

  • Pencil solder
  • Pliers
    -Dremel tools
    -Files (smalls)
    -Patient (I can’t take a picture)
  • small hammer.
  • custom rivet maker. (very easy to make)
    -Paper guillotine
    -Rule
    -drills (no shows)

I hope that enjoy the pictures.
for my nothing is a secret feel free to ask.
thanks to everybody for the comments.

    David Vergun:
I appreciate yours jobs and I think that you have a lot to show us.
    Andre.

AndreGG1 - very clever idea for making rivets! I did it with a punch tool (ugh - one at a time) for HO many years ago. It was extremely tedious.

Very, very nice work, Andre. And I love seeing it on this forum.

I think the closest I’m going to get to that in the near future is making a frame for a mint streamlined PRR tender shell I have.

Did you work from drawing, blueprint, photos, what?

Once again, well done.
