Brawa operating container crane....advice please.

Can anyone please lend some advise on Brawa’s Operating Container crane set. It is motorized with a control unit. Walther’s has it on sale this month in their ad and I am modeling an intermodal yard and would like to add a motorized crane set for some interaction on my layout. Some questions I have are, Is it cheaply made? Reliable? Easy to assemble and operate? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can anyone shed some light on the quality of Brawa products. Are they easy to assemble with easy to follow instructions? Thanks.

Hi Air 4mdc: I can’t help you very much since I don’t have one of the container craains. I did see one working on a modual at a trainshow some time ago. It seemed to work pretty well. The guy had it loading and unloading containers and for the short time I watched it ran well. I hope that this helps some. I wi***hat I couldbe more help.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate your input. I’m going to model a pretty decent size intermodal operation and would like a operating crane to enhance it’s appearance and have some interaction. Marklin has one for about $800 which is a bit way too much for me. I’d rather put that money in motive power. I also think the Marklin looks cheaper, less detail. I wish I could find a better picture of the Brawa. Oh, well…thanks again!

it looks it’s the old ROCO project that never see daylight for the reason we know.
nontheless,lot of this projects were sub contracted and the designer is know selling is product to a new manufacturer in my opinion.

at last,intermodal can now be pu***o it’s limit[:P]

Is THIS better?

You might want to do a Google search and shop around. Reynauld’s Euro-Emports is selling the same model for $205. Walthers is $270.

Sorry I don’t have the model, so I can’t comment on it from direct knowledge, but I’ve read others comments on Brawa quality being very good. If it’s made in Germany, I would not doubt that. I haven’t found anything that would indicate that it is a kit that you have to assemble. Send an e-mail or call Reynauld’s and ask them.
