I have heard the name Brick Price mentioned in a couple of posts here - usually in connection with HOn30 locomotives and rolling stock. I assume this is the same Brick Price who built (builds?) special effects models for the movie industry.
I was just wondering what connection(s) he has with the hobby of model railroading.
I have the same book. It was a general modelling book but had a number of model railroad (including some pics of the C&DR) subjects as examples of different techniques - plus a lot of his SFX models. I bought it when I had dreams (delusions?) of becoming a special effects modeler for the movie industry.
It had a chapter discussing what was involved to become a SFX modeler which did nothing to increase my love of unions. Basically he said to become a movie modeller you had to be a member of one of the prop maker’s unions, but to become a member of the union you had to have a proven work history as a prop maker…![:(!] Catch22
