I have an AC6000 and love it. Its performance and sound are great.
The problem with this rating system is that it only goes to 5, For this engine a rating of 10 would be more approiate. It is the best of them all.
These are a great value for the money. I agree with the previous comments about the excellent feature set and performance these models provide. At normal viewing distances these models present themselves very well and are a marvel to watch, pulling your train down the track. I have one minor issue to mention with close up comparisons using reading glasses; I have found some models by other manufacturers have more crisp molded in body details and metal add on parts instead of plastic vs. the BLI AC6000. However, BLI tends to be the value leader “all things considered”. My rating = 5 for performance, 5 for features and 4 for presentation and paint. I give an overall value rating of 5 stars.
I have two BLI AC6000 and am very pleased with their looks and performance.
I use the MRC TECH 6 SOUND CONTROLLER 2.0 and have had no problems with operation, yet.
I just picked up 2 of these for my layout. I love them!!!
Does this model have an NMRA 8-pin quick plug for DCC?
I thought about getting one or two with my christmas money but I am still deciding.
I have the CSX #632 of this model. It is an outstanding model. Very heavy, smooth drive, awesome sound, tremendous hauler. To the reader above, yes, it does have an 8pin plug which is located underneath the rear radiator cover. No need to take the whole shell off, just remove the cover, take out the jumper, add your decoder, and program. The key to programming Blueline locos is to make sure both your DCC decoder and BLI’s sound decoder are on the same address. I use Ops mode to program and have never had a problem. The directions are very thorough and helpful. BLI’s customer support is outstanding, btw!!!
Again, I highly recommend this locomotive, new or used.
Very poor performing locomotive on the latest AC6000 release by BLI. The Paragon 2 decoders have great sound but terrible motor control.
I Just purchased mine from a local retailer and like it. I would only give it four stars because it doesn’t handle 18in radius curves like it is supposed to. Otherwise it sounds great and run fantasticly
I have this loco in UP colors and love it, quite drives, great sound and excellent speed control, the detail is right up there with bigger names to, five stars all the way.
i purchased one and thought it was so great i’m going to purchase another one
I bought a BLI Blue Line UP AC6000 and the sound was incredible. I cannot imagine what the sound must be like on the Pargon 2 locomotives. The only problem I have had is with programming but they have probably fix that in the new models.
This would be a great addition to my collection, how much does this engine cost though?
