bud lite commercial -- real men of genius -- mr. train modeler

I don’t drink Bud Light… don’t drink ANY light beer for that matter… but I DID crack up when I played it (so did my wife and family members). I don’t have to buy BUD to laugh at ourselves. I remember the funny looks we get when we show up for a show/convention/swap meet from the non-modelers. We don’t look as weird as “Trekkies”, but then grown men wearing engineers’ caps, overalls and scarves is pretty over the top to most people. The last engineer I saw dressed like that was Smiley Burnette on Petticoat Junction.

I consider this ad to be discusting.

I am morally opposed to Beer Drinking.

I think going from Survivor to doing beer jingles is a major step up.[:D]

Jeff

I still can’t get over it [(-D] I don’t drink, but it is FUNNY!! Now, if they only substituted bud lite for digitrax… [:I]

Yea, funny one there! [:o)]

I have never bought that brand of beer, but they sure do have a hugh marketing department, huh!

Hmmm…not sure if he would win any awards for those jingles [:)]

Okay, finally saw it–cute. Didn’t upset me or anything (though I think the current Bacardi “MOJITO” commercial is a lot better).
Of course, EVERYONE knows that Beer was invented on New Years Eve, by the ancient Sumerians in the year 6000BC. Of course it took the Germans, Austrians, Danes, Dutch, Czechs and Belgians to turn brewing into an Art Form. Beleive me, America has still got a LOT of catching up to do.
But what bothers me is that a good old German name like BUDWEISER could somehow screw the formula up so BADLY! Hasn’t anyone told them that the word “BIER” does NOT translate into English as “Sandpaper?”
Tom [:P]

Hi guys…kinda new here obviously…couldn’t resist adding to this thread.

A friend of mine works in the radio business at a station that has played the real Bud Lite spots and he doesn’t think this was a “real” commercial… He mentioned that there are two guys who have a smaller ad agency that impressed Budweiser with the humorous commercials but that they also make what you could call spoofs of their own work for the sake of comedy. He said they were on the syndicated “Bob And Tom” morning show about a month ago with some other funny stuff they had done.

So for those of you who didn’t find it funny, it sounds like it isn’t part of a national campaign or anything. If you are wondering if I thought it was funny, check out where I live…I might even run for mayor of my town. And Jeff ~ LOL on the step up from Survivor to commercials!

Grammies ain’t nuthin’. They’re almost as common as a$$holes. Heck, MILLI VANILLI won a Grammy…[:p] LOL

Jeff
P.S. But I DO understand your point.[:D]

I thought it was funny…

But I don’t drink Bud “beers”… because I like beer!

[#welcome] to the MR Forum, Mr Grandson of Sam! [?]

I was wondering if that spot actually made the air waves.

Oh and uh…you got an interesting profile name too! [:-^] What caused you to come up with that [8] name?

So you’re from nutsville huh…

Thanks for the welcome SilverSpike. Just tried to come up with something interesting and creative for a name. My Grandpa (RIP) was named Sam. So when my wife and I saw that movie about the Son Of Sam a few years back it dawned on me that indeed I am the Grandson Of Sam. No relation to the real Son Of Sam of course and don’t mean to make light of the seriousness of his offenses in any way. But I’m a lot like my Grandpa so it just seemed to fit. And I was born in Nutsville, attended school in Nutsville, go to church in Nutsville, live in Nutsville and will probably be buried in Nutsville. But it’s a cool place - everyone here has a great sense of humor.

These ads are for radio only, I believe. Don’t think the concept would work on tv. Some of them are clever, especially the “Nosebleed ticket section holder” one. I can laugh at myself too, but thought the miniature train modeler one went a bit far. My friends loved it though.

Yikes! Personally I dont own anything even close to that! You’ll most likely see me at a trainshow or working on my layout in shorts and a Tshirt, I own one train oriented shirt, and it was a gift…

No aurgument on the Trekkies, [;)]
We get the Big Kahuna of Trek shows every year here in Pasadena, when the streets are filled with roaming Klingons and stray Vulcans looking for a place to eat at…I went to one show out of curiosity, I quite literally only lasted 15 minutes before I was racing for the exits!

Oh well, next stop… Nutsville![:D]

Z-gaugers drink micro-brews…[:p]

Funny thread, some with more of a sense of humor than others…

Bob

THATS FUNNY!!![(-D]

How in the world did you come across that? Someone obviously has to much time on there hands.
