I like a good laugh, and don’t mind having a little fun poked at us, but this one is over the top. Like their beer, it was done in poor taste.

There was an episode of Third Rock From the Sun. The leader of the group, *** (John Lithgow - ?), for some reason, takes up model railroading. They portray him as withdrawn, lonely, weird, etc. I remember him sitting there with an engineer’s cap on … getting really upset because he can’t find some little detail part to complete his scene on the railroad. It was really funny.
I admit this is somewhat of a peculiar hobby. I do not know anyone else that does it. Strangers that see my little layout are interested only because it is so intense … there is a lot going on in a small place … with DCC switchers with sound running very close to each other in a small area. Their interest doesn’t usually last that long. And that’s ok with me.
I have that mutated gene in me that draws me to all things railroads and railroading.
I’ve been called “Elmer Fudd” when I go out duck hunting.
I’ve been called a “gun nut” when i spend time at the range.
Life is too short to worry about what other people think. Laugh it off.

You know what politicians say to newspaper reporters? “I don’t care what you say about me, just spell my name right.” That’s the same thing we should be thinking about the commercial. Personally, I’ll drink any beer someone else buys. I don’t have the money for a second hobby.
I thought it was funny. I’m used to the weird looks. But come Christmas they can’t wait for Mr Trainnut to set the layout up so they can come look at my minature town Whoo- Whoo. Budweiser has funny commercials I love the one about “Mr Footlong Hotdog Vendor”
That commercial is not too bad. I like some of the other “Real Men of Genius” Bud commercials.
BUT, to go from “Eye of the Tiger” to “Real Men of Genius” is quite a downturn. The guy who sings on those commercials is David Bickler, former lead singer of Survivor, who won a grammy for Eye of the Tiger back in 1982. However, doing radio jingles is nothing new for David Bickler since did a Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial back in 1973.
So, while watching Rocky III, open up sone Budweiser to go with your KFC and ya got it made[:p][:D]
