Building flats on view blocks

building a layout and plannign on “hiding” 3 staging tracks in the middle of a pennisula behind some viewblocks. was originally thinking of some steep rockwork on slope, but now wondering about lining the view block with building flats with loading docs RR cars. also considering just printing colored building and glueing them to the view blocks, possibly adding wooded loading docs

anyone have any experience with this or suggestions.

My primary question would be how does one access the staging tracks or see what is on those tracks if it is behind a view block?

I created some staging tracks by placing the tracks below the scenery level but at the benchwork edge so I see what is there and access it. I’ll try to get a photo and post later.

my question is about building flats on view blocks

one knows which trains are on which track and when completely hidden, ir sensors can determine where trains are on each track

I do not hide the staging. I built ‘Clarence Dock’ and use that as a staging point.

Sometimes I and my grandchildren run trains there as a layout in its own right.

Like a layout within a layout.
