The HO Proto Erie FM for C&NW has two glaring errors. The C&NW had two horns, not one, and two headlights, not one. Having never added loco parts before, what parts am I looking for? or should I go down Dan Lewis’ (N scale Erie FM in MR Feb 2001) path and form the light from styrene tube? Also, does anyone know of plans or a kit for FM H16-66? C&NW ended up with most of the production run.
FM H16-66. OK, you piqued my curiosity!
www.railspot.com has a list of all the road numbers
www.drgw.net/cnw has two photos.
The Model Railroader index showed no plans.
I’m sure someone knows where to find plans,BUT…
“The Car Works”, a manufacturer of brass locos was supposed to have released an H16-66 in early
1999. They are at; P.O.Box 4254 Warren, N.J.07059
Their FAX is (732)302-9590. Good Luck!
Those are Proto 1000 engines - no proto-specific details!. Of course, if you want ‘perfect’ engines, there have been ‘brass’ engines(money)…Look through Walthers catalog for the air horns & headlights.
No one has made the H16-66 in plastic - IIRC, there has been brass ones. Even the C&NW ones had different radiators and car body features.
