C&O Passenger pain schemes

Hi,
I have been looking through some pictures, as I am beggining to research into the C&O railroad, and it seems like there are 10,000 differant passenger paint schemes. Can anyone tell me what schemes were in use in 1948? If it makes any differance I am modeling june.

I have to admit that the title of this thread got me to click on it.

Yeah, me too! I was wondering if it was a scheme to discourage train travel, kind of like the Southern Pacific had in the 60’s.

NECRO THREAD ALERT!

Is it time to bury it?

It should never have been unburied…

Really? I kind of enjoyed “Night Of The Living Dead.”

It pains me to say this, but the original poster 19-1/2 years ago probably should have proofread his headline. [:-,][xx(]

So… you are searching the web for some subject you want to know more about and up pops an old thread on a forum and you read it and find that you have a comment that you want to make… Instead of opening the old thread you should start a new one and make a comment something like:

“I really agree with ‘TrainFanIdiot’ that the paint scheme as shown in his photo was the best one until the merger and then they combined the two and I think the new one (per 'IdiotTrainFan’s photo) is horrible. Does anybody else agree?”

There is NOTHING wrong with joining a conversation a bit late, or even way late. Just think of the people that will see the information anew; they might never have known it existed.

I can’t view the photo?

Murphy - that’s awful (ly good!) [bow]

  • PDN.

Absolutely not! I enjoyed the resuscitated headline! It brought a little fun into the day.

I’m with Flintlock. I actually wondered if someone decided to convince people they should take a plane.

Or maybe he was still traumatized by the C&O not following through with the operation of The Chessie and its steam turbine locomotive. Great Pain.

I wonder if the OP’s still in the land of the living? [^o)]

The fact that the user name pops up as anonymous means that poster has left the forum. Elvis has left the building…

Sorry about that. Here is the link to the website: https://cohs.org/archives/rolling-stock/

That’s because you didn’t have to star in it involuntarily…©️♠️

He might have died from exhaustion after 302,278 posts!

That would be quite an achievement!

I wonder: is the 302,278 the total number of posts made by all who now hide behind “anonymous?”

I believe it is the post total for all those that have been consigned to the ‘anonymous’ bin - for whatever the reason.
