I suppose they just put them on the rails in Schenectady and they ran 'em there on their own power. [:-^]
I’m sure that there has to be more(?) but The Diesel Shop only has one listed, CP 4563 preserved at the Canadian Railway Museum.
Hi guys. there may not be that many Big MLW Alco’s left. CN’s were sold off to the Cape breton and Central Nova Scotia RR and to the various mexican roads. CP ran the wheels of theirs in the 90’s the few functioning ones were sold to Mexico for Parts along with the BC Rail ones. A lot of those have been traded into GM and GE by the Mexican roads for new SD’s and dash’s. the Canadian exporail Museum In Delson ( Montreal ) had a few mostly CP loco’s and the one and only M640 and the Cat repowered 4711

Wait, someone go check their roster books(for the present) I think the A&M unit is a 628
No need to check any rosters, because there is no way its a C628…because…
There are no C628’s in the USA.
I am not uncertain about this, I am not guessing…its a very well known fact…
There are three surviving C628’s in the world…two in Mexico and one in Australia…again, I am not uncertain about this…its a very well known and documented fact…
