A brush fire that broke out in the Cajon Pass this morning has caused BNSF to stop running trains through the pass. How are they going to go about rerouting trains?

Expect BNSFs hottest hotshots to detour on the Sunset to Vaugn(sp), Nm. and UP might divert I5 corridor traffic to Soledad and transcon LA&SL route traffic to the Sunset.
It depends on how long the pass is closed, it’s a major artery and will be re-opened ASAP.
The Devore brush firte started around 11 AM. It was somewhat contained after lunch, and lanes on I-15 were to re-open at 3 PM. I suspect BNSF will re-open the ‘trans-con’ after a Hy-Rail inspection of the affected area.

Thank You, Thank, You, Thank You for NOT using the overworked cliche and TV announcer term: WILD FIRE, such a relief to see the proper term for fires, there are forest fires, brush fires, grass fires and other vegatative types of fires but they are not referred to as “wild fires”
They even have Smokey the Bear aping the term, how sad is that ?
I got a good chuckle out of this. The media can be rather annoying when they over hype stories.
Thanks for the replies guys.
Earlier today (probably about 3 P.M. plus or minus) I was in Hesperia (on the east slope of Cajon Pass) and went over the Main St. overpass and saw a BNSF westbound approaching. So, trains are apparently getting through the Pass.
The Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) website was checked (probably about 6 P.M.), and there were no closers of I-15 or I-215, both of which had earlier been closed account of the fire.
