Can you spray diluted Glue and or Matt or Gloss Medium with an airbrush

I’ve had no luck with diluted glue and a pump spray bottle. Title says it all. Will it work? Dave

I tried it with a single action Aztek airbrush and the answer is NO.

try adding more and more water to the glue/water mix untill it sprays well enough, I think I have used10 or 12 water to one glue in the past, the glue will still hold well after a good soaking as the water evaporates leaving the glue bond. Usually problems with spraying glue are because the liquid is too thick for the nozzle. My previous layout was stored on edge and nothing fell off even with this extra diluted mix. Try it on some scrap wood and stand it on edge when dry to test it out.

Have fun & be safe

Try adding a small amount of alcohol to the diluted mix. The secret is finding the proper spray bottle. I find that the commercial bottles from a janitorial supplier do the job.

I have used diluted white glue ( elmers) with great success.

I mixed it 50% / 50%, water to glue along with about 2-3 drops of Dawn dish soap( green one) The dishsoap makes the glue and water solution flow better. You almost have to flood the area that you are working on, but it will harden concrete hard!

The bottle that i use is just a trigger bottle that I picked up from the Dollar store for a Buck. The glue solution is the only thing that I use in this bottle too. So no mixing of other things by mistake.

I have had excellent results with glue through an airbrush. As stated above, make sure the mixture is quite thin and apply it liberally.
