I take rumors with a grain of salt. but whenever I see this:Rumors from Train orders. I get a few box car loads.

Looked up the Steamtown site but nothing to confirm nor deny them. So till I see it stated tehy are stuffing and mounting her I will be inclined to say ummmmm no. If she has truck problems why run her?

I have to admit that the term “stuffed and mounted” always bothers me. With what do you stuff a steam locomotive, and on what should it be mounted? This is a term for taxidermy, not preservation. CP no 2317’s boiler is running out of time under the current regulations. After 1,472 days being steamed, a locomotive boiler needs to be inspected, and any necessary repairs should be made. Since Steamtown’s other locomotives, no. 26, an 0-6-0, and Boston & Maine no. 3713, a 4-6-2, are under repair, the teardown of 2317 may wait a while. In the interim, if you see 2317 in the roundhouse NOT under steam, they are trying to save boiler time, and/or keep her in storage until her heavy repairs begin. Here is a photo of her running on the Scranton Limited yard train last Sunday.
