Only the lawyers and the greedy Wall St. types win in these situations.

Could this be one of those times when you want to say (to CP Shareholders): “Be careful what you wish for…”?
One more case of “Activist Investors” screwing up a company so that they can make money producing nothing for America. Their only motive is profit, not making something. Hence, they are leeches as are futures investors who do not make, deliver or sell anything but still add 40% to the price of gas.
By 2013 Ackman will have sucked the railroad dry ,and his hedge fund will be history, anyone care to place a bet.
I am not looking forward to what might happen in the future for CP. Being a MOW employee of CP I’m worried about what might happen. I think something had to change, but not with these corporate thieves doing it. Railroading is a business that works with LONG term investments, not short term gains. CP could be a great RR, but really hasn’t been living up to there potential.
Lets face facts, not emotions!
CP has a great railroad west of Thunder Bay!
Asian markets lead into Cp’s strength more than any other railroad!
Let Bill Ackman, let Hunter work his magic, and see where it ends up?
After all as a shareholder I don’t see a downside???
Lets talk again in 3 years!
I wonder what the future of the DME and ICE lines are? Could they be candidates to be spun off and would their former managers be interested?
No one has mentioned Steve Tobias and Tony Ingram in this. Both directors are seasoned, respected railroaders with solid track records who know both how to run a railroad and how to improve one. And don’t forget that CP has quite a few IT systems that came originally from NS…tools to be leveraged by people who know how to use them?
Of course, the current strike is extremely bad for CPR right now–driving business away…
How gold is his parachute??
Wonder if these changes will give another life to the D&H - will Hunter take on the D&H as a challenge, or let it wither further for NS to acquire at scrap value??!!
Hopefully they can start with an image change and keep their equipment cleaner.
In Mower and Freeborn counties in Mn the CP’s DME and CN’s CC run somewhat parallel . The elevator sidings on the DME seem to be full of cars and it seems rare to see them on the CC .
It’s time. Something had to give. CP is nothing close to what it could be.
Sad. No-one likes to see anyone lose a job, but if Mr. Green wasn’t getting it done, well, what can we say? A commanding general that can’t win a battle doesn’t stay around very long either.
Did Harrison say that CPR’s buy of DM&E was a bad move? If so…easy bet on what he’ll do first…
This tyrannical ackerman or whatever his name is using Alinsky type tactics right out of the oval office.I think that CSX would have made a better catch
long term this is probably not good for cp,may be some short term gains and labor unrest.

The new CEO for CPR must be an experienced railroader and knowlegeable of mountain railroading. Just cutting service for profit will not be acceptable to Canadians.
