I’ve been trying since yesterday morning (8/4/25) to get onto the Trains website. I have a bookmark, and it’s not working beyond an error message. Typing the site address into Google or the address bar also does nothing but return the same error message from the site: “Error establishing a database connection”. I’ve tried everything, and nothing works… for what it’s worth, I’m on a Windows 11 running Chrome, and both are up to date.
Anybody else having this issue, or is it just me?
I’m using Win.10, Microsoft Edge.
I keep getting, “Error establishing a database connection”, on a plain page.
Not even telling me if my Login credentials are wrong.
Browsing for, ‘trains.com login’ - same thing.
I cannot sign myself back in.
Action: contact Trains.com
If you have a different browser, try using that one. Does Edge use Ctrl-F5 to flush the cache? I don’t know what the cookie structure for Firecrown is now but if you can view cookies separately you might figure it out easily without having to nuke all your passwords and history.
Hi, I contacted Nick at Fire Crown, who suggested I Log-in using an Edge incognito window.
If this works, which it did, Nick recommended to delete my Browsing History and Log-in to Trains.com again - which worked as normal.
Now I just have to Log back in to all my other sites as well, but that is no trouble.
Cheers, regards, Paul.
I had the same problem with the main Trains.com website bu not the forums. Deleting the cookies for Trains.com did the trick for me, but did have to login again to both the main site and the forums.
